This position description does not represent a current opening but may be used to identify candidates with skills and experience for positions within Northrop Grumman that frequently become available. Candidates who express an interest may be considered for future positions at Northrop Grumman. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Field Engineering team. Field engineering assignments include “hands-on” integration, testing and evaluation of sophisticated sensor systems, including both hardware and software components that may include environmental test, flight test and in-field customer support. The field engineer also performs analysis of test results and prepares reports; uses modeling and simulation tools (ex.. MATLAB) to expedite the test process. This position requires flexibility and willingness to travel. Moderate to lengthy temporary domestic or international travel including deployment with the US Military may be required. Responsibilities for this Pipeline requisition are: Perform system integration, test and evaluation support, and customer operations support either in Baltimore or in the field at the customer’s domestic or international location. These tasks will be conducted for product lines that include radar, EO/IR, EW, SIGINT, and communication systems, at all stages of the product life-cycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications Communicate with customers, external agencies, and team members to resolve issues and determine future improvements and corrections
