The Services team within Bombardier in North America, numbering over 1,700 professionals through 12 current contracts, is responsible for third party Operations and Maintenance (O and M) services for commuter and light rail transit systems, overhaul and refurbishment of passenger rail cars, material solutions (spare parts, engineering and innovative long term material supply agreements) and technology solutions (creating and implementing innovative products and technologies for our transit clients).
We are looking for a Reliability Engineer, based in Baltimore, to support our sites across United States.
Your will be responsible to drive a higher level of fleet reliability and maintenance optimization through the development and introduction of processes and engineering practices.
In your role you will:
: Investigate new concepts and proven tools that will deliver higher reliability;
: Utilize KPI's to evaluate performance and recommend improvements;
: Ensure all opportunities in regards to improved reliability, lower operating costs, asset availability, fleet safety and product quality are recognized;
: Support the business in regards to engineering needs;
: Develop methods for gathering, analyzing and examining reliability data then correlate this data using well defined engineering techniques, practices and processes;
: Track Operation and Maintenance site performance based on defined KPIs;
: Prepare consolidated recommendations and reports on what actions should be taken to drive a higher level of reliability;
: Plan and perform engineering research in regards to equipment, components and processes using general engineering practices focused on reliability improvements;
: Review, design and develop new and unique engineering methods and work practices/procedures, identifies and evaluates special equipment, innovative test procedures, performs risk/safety analysis and prepares detailed technical reports and recommendations aimed at driving reliability;
: Considers cost impact, asset availability, safety, improved through:put, minimized down time and shop efficiencies in addressing reliability issues;
: Support the growth of Services where possible through ways and means that include but are not limited to proposal support, identifying opportunities for improved productivity, reducing cost, creative maintenance approaches, optimizing maintenance, improving asset utilization and reducing our overall product costs.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate:
: You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
: You cumulate a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a similar role;
: You possess previous experience in railroad industry;
: You are proficient with Ms Office;
: You must possess a sound knowledge in the execution of a variety of reliability processes, principles and tools;
: You should have hands on experience in managing and executing complex reliability projects;
: Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken.
