Legg Mason's Corporate Finance department is hiring a Financial Analyst for its Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The positions are based at the Legg Mason Baltimore headquarters in Harbor East. The Financial Analyst (FP&A) is responsible for performing analysis and generating management reporting in support of the financial needs of Legg Mason's Executive Management team, Board of Directors, Affiliates, Distribution, and Shared Service business units. Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to: Creates various presentations for Legg Mason's Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Executive Management team Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis versus prior period and budget Performance of various 'ad hoc' analysis addressing issues or concerns regarding financial operating results Maintenance and development of management reports focused on key operating metrics Assist in the quarterly press release and investor deck presentation Works closely with Legg Mason's shared service, distribution and investment management affiliates on all aspects of Management Reporting Completion of various industry surveys Other duties as assigned Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant area 3 + years work experience with an emphasis financial planning and analysis, business analytics, and/or financial modeling Strong communication skills, able to independently structure and develop PowerPoint presentations and other business documents (MS Excel) for executive audiences Possess strong understanding of accounting concepts with the ability to read and interpret financial statements The ability to think creatively and work collaboratively in a team environment Effectively manages multiple priorities and maintains stability and composure in order to meet strict reporting deadlines Undergraduate degree with concentration in Finance or Accounting required, MBA or CPA preferred Experience with Hyperion's Financial Management, Financial Planning system and Essbase preferred Asset management industry experience preferred Benefits: Legg Mason offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), profit-sharing, paid time off, employee stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, and much more.
