Description
The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) is seeking a part-time Editorial Assistant to handle manuscript submissions and peer reviews for two journals and provide administrative assistance with other publications projects.
Responsibilities include: performing initial quality checks and tracking submitted manuscripts through the online submission and peer review system; communicating with authors, editors, associate editors, and production staff about queries, corrections, and status; maintaining timely workflows to meet editorial deadlines; and scheduling podcast recordings. The EA will also assist in preparing editorial data reports and other publications tasks.
The successful candidate will have: a Bachelor's degree in English or related field; at least one year of publishing experience, preferably in STM publishing; familiarity with AMA style; excellent copyediting and proofreading skills; experience with web-based technology and management information systems; superb organizational skills and attention to detail; the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines; professional and tactful demeanor in dealing with authors and editors; and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
