UMMS is currently seeking an Associate Contract Manager for our Corporate location.
Under general supervision, provides management, coordination and administration for a portfolio of medical, pharmaceutical and surgical contracts, programs and services. Negotiate and implement purchase agreements encompassing all aspects of medical, pharmaceutical and surgical group purchasing including contracting for equipment, supplies, equipment service, contracted services, and related distribution and general services. Focused on maximizing quality and service while achieving standardization, cost control and performance improvement. Directly supervises and assigns tasks to buyers and assistant buyers in the completion of purchase requests. Develops, analyzes, reports and interprets financial and statistical information related to system supply chain agreements. Provides management reports and analysis of the information processed through the procurement system.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1. Manages corporate contracts assigned to their respective commodity group.
2. Interacts at a high level within UMMS and the supplier community.
3. Manages leads and/or facilitates corporate or any major supply, service or capital initiatives.
4. Contract negotiator for supplier contracts.
5. Manages centralized contract system for their commodity group within Supply Chain Management.
6. Manages contracts assigned to their commodity group to ensure UMMS compliance, vendor compliance, price competitiveness, utilization and market trends.
7. Assists in the development of management cost reporting of expenses, corporate savings programs and recommendations for further "cost cutting" opportunities.
8. Conducts meetings in conjunction with contract manager and/or Performance Consulting regarding contract implementation, transition planning, monitoring of savings and necessary follow:up with suppliers. Attends appropriate meetings and on terms as directed.
9. Reports and monitors UMMS supply chain savings. Audits supply chain savings for each hospital in UMMS system. Develops and maintains procedures and reports for supply chain savings.
10. Assists Contract Mangers in calculating the cost of pricing and/or vendor price changes.
11. Formalizes and completes written documentation to track supply savings. Works collaboratively with departments and/or hospitals to implement recommendations.
