The Marriott International HQ located at xxxx0 Fernwood Road, Bethesda, MD, xxxx7 is currently hiring a Manager, Social Strategy.
Responsibilities include: This position is responsible for the hotel website social strategy for Marriott Digital Services (MDS), Marriott?s comprehensive in-house digital services program for hotel websites. This centralized offering provides individual hotels with search engine optimization (SEO) services, and functions in an agency-like model within the Digital Services organization.
The Manager, Social Strategy will assist in the development of digital marketing strategies that support natural search room night growth goals and optimal positioning of Marriott hotel websites within search engines. The position focuses on creating, implementing and measuring on-site and off-site social marketing efforts.
The Manager, Social Strategy is tasked with staying up-to-date on industry best-practices and works to implement new ideas, techniques and tactics within the MDS programs. He or she will work cross-functionally with various Marriott Digital teams to advance the value of social marketing at the hotel level. This role includes supervisory responsibilities for Social Analyst(s), vendors and freelance social content writers with the creation and implementation of social strategy across hotel websites and for special projects. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, SEO.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
? BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field.
? 4+ years of relevant work experience (digital marketing, social, communications, etc.)
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
? Manages processes and quality of work for all social related tactics that support the overarching Marriott Digital strategies and goals.
? Creates new workflows, training guidelines and documentation (as needed) to continually improve social tactic quality and effectiveness.
? Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work within respective Center of Excellence.
? Monitors the work of Social Analyst(s) to ensure it is completed on time and meets expectations.
? Manages processes and quality of work for the following tactics:
1. Social analysis
2. Social interaction guides
3. Social channel consultation guides
4. Third party promotions (Yelp, Yext, Four Square, TripAdvisor)
5. Multi-Signal Search creative amplification
6. Content Calendars
Content Management and Execution
? Responsible for the daily management of social strategy tactics, including on-site and off-site social optimization, as well as the development and distribution of social content.
? Continually updates and aligns social optimization strategies with new and emerging best practices, to improve quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
? Executes regional specific or in-language social strategies for Marriott global hotel website optimization.
? Complies and keeps social guideline documentation and standards up to date, to ensure quality, consistency and brand voice for hotel websites.
Owning Relationships
? Works cross-functionally with enterprise and brand teams to advance social optimization opportunities at the hotel level.
Tools and Vendors
? Owns day-to-day agency and vendor relationships, managing quality of work and timeliness of deliverables.
? Provides social training and support on internal Marriott social management systems and tools.
? Main point of contact with outside vendors, coordinating training and support on their tools and dashboards.
Measurement and Analytics
? Analyzes hotel website social performance; provides both strategic and tactical recommendations for increased performance.
? Identifies social channels that are most effective at driving conversions, revenue, and ROI, and scales across MDS programs.
? Measures the success of time-sensitive content using appropriate key performance indicator (KPI) classifications - impressions, engagement, social and conversion metrics.
? Reviews and analyzes results from current program offerings, recommends changes and enhancements to help increase conversions, revenue and ROI.

? Provides training on tactical processes and best practices to Social Analyst(s), Account Managers, vendors and freelance content writers.
? Leads specific team while assisting with meeting or exceeding department goals.
? Makes sure others understand performance expectations.

? Supports ongoing MDS thought leadership activities ? webinars, training sessions, social posts, blog posts, presentations, etc.
? Continual education and self-growth through reading industry blogs and social media, attending industry conferences, seminars, analyzing research briefs, etc.
? Performs other reasonable duties, such as special projects, as assigned by manager and MDS Leadership Team.
